Security Lighting Guidelines for People, Property & Critical Infrastructure [Working Title]

If you are a risk manager, design specialist, engineer, or crime prevention professional concerned about personnel safety and security, we invite your participation in an important project.

The IES Security Lighting Committee is currently updating the security lighting standards and we invite peer review and comments.  We take your input, recommendations and suggested changes seriously.  A copy of the current security lighting standards contained in the IES G-1-03 publication  can be located by visiting:

• The Illuminating Engineering Society; or,
• The American Nation Standards Institute.

Please review the current G-1-03 and provide comments regarding any opportunities for improvement for consideration.  We are especially interested in knowing:

1. Whether you found the overview of security concepts helpful?  How could this section be improved?
2. Did you find the security lighting concepts helpful?  How could this section be improved?
3. What additional specific applications would you recommend?
4. Are the security lighting standards reasonable, understandable and practical?
5. What additional specific applications would you recommend?
